Derick Pieter

Derick Pieter is currently working in the new Dutch production of West Side Story as a Swing and assistant dance captain. Before that, he performed as a swing in the musical Pretty Woman. Derick also performed in Disney’s Aladdin and was swing in ONE the Musical.

As a child, Derick sang and performed in Amandla! Mandela and Daddy Cool. In addition, he danced in the opera Rusalka by De Nationale Opera & Ballet, appeared in the film Net als in de film, and was featured in Rudy’s Grote Kerstshow. He has also worked with international choreographers such as Anthony Burrell and Padriac Moyles.

In 2024, Derick participated in the DOX Club program by Stichting DOX, in collaboration with Uriah Havertong, Fahd Larhzaoui, and Marios Bellas. He also worked as a scare actor at Walibi Fright Nights: Cheers to Fears and was active as an actor and youth expert (moderator) with Stichting Kikid. In his spare time, he takes tap classes with Peter Kuit and attends classes house, locking, and popping with Gino Jagessar and Herrold Anakotta.

In 2023, Derick obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Dance from the Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts, where he began his pre-professional training in 2013.
